Highbury Grove School is a is a mixed inner city comprehensive school with 1150 pupils on role based in Highbury, North London. As a leading specialist Business and Enterprise School  we have set up a number of businesses which help our pupils gain the necessary experience and skills needed for the world of work, but we also encourage them to develop links with the local community.

In October 2005 we set up our business called Printagain to recycle inkjet, laser cartridges and mobile phones. The scheme involves our students working with local schools and businesses and any money which we raise directly funds local community projects within our Business Enterprise Centre. To date we have already offered a number of free word processing and web design courses to local residents and businesses.

Printagain will bring three main benefits to Highbury Grove and the local community:

  • Contribute to the environment by recycling old printer cartridges and mobile phones which would otherwise have been thrown away.
  • Generate income from the payment made by Inkagain for returned empty cartridges which will be used to fund opportunities for the local community to use our Business and Enterprise Suite.
  • Help students develop their business and enterprise skills.

Highbury Grove is the first school in the country to be running such a scheme and we hope that with your continued support that we will be able to extend the provision we are able to offer and be able to encourage other schools to run similar schemes which can also directly benefit their local communities.
